Jailer 2 Box Office Collection Day 15 Live Updates: Nelson Dilipkumar’s actioner Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, has breached another milestone at the box office. On its 15th day since release, the film has now surpassed the Rs 500 crore gross milestone in India. Its current gross earnings stand at Rs 502.65 crore, with net India collection at Rs 429.55 crore and worldwide gross earnings at Rs 765.15 crore.

Jailer 2 collected Rs 5.90 crore net on its third Thursday (day 15) at the domestic box office from 10.313 screens. The original Tamil version contributed the most, earning Rs 3.20 crore from 4,462 shows, followed by the Telugu version (Rs 1.40 crore from 1,665 shows), Hindi version (Rs 1.10 crore from 3,972 shows) and Kannada version (Rs 20 lakh from 214 shows).

Jailer 2’s Thursday earnings registered a slight decline from its third Wednesday (day 14) collection of Rs 6.55 crore across all languages at the domestic box office. After 15 days, the total earnings of Jailer 2 have crossed the Rs 500 crore mark gross in India, thus becoming only the second Tamil film ever to achieve that feat.

The first one to do so was the only other sequel Rajinikanth has done before Jailer 2. S Shankar’s 2018 sci-fi action epic 2.0, the sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2010 blockbuster Enthiraan, amassed Rs 519 crore gross at the domestic box office back then.

The difference between the domestic box office collections of Jailer 2 and 2.0 is that while the latter enjoyed a wider release in the Hindi market, also aided by the presence of Akshay Kumar as the chief antagonist, the former had a compromised Hindi release owing to disagreements with leading multiplex chains PVR INOX and Cinepolis over its four-week window before a streaming release.

While 2.0’s total domestic box office collection included a massive contribution of Rs 225 crore gross from the dubbed Hindi version, Jailer 2 has managed to earn around one-fifth of that, Rs 54.75 crore, within 15 days, given it’s found a release only in secondary national multiplex chains and single screens across India. Thus, most of its business has come primarily from the Tamil and Telugu versions.

The worldwide box office is a different story. Jailer 2 had already amassed Rs 765.15 crore gross globally within 15 days of release. It’s already the highest grossing Tamil film of all time globally, having surpassed 2.0, which collected Rs 691 crore during its lifetime.

Jailer 2, the sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2023 blockbuster Jailer, also stars Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, and Vidya Balan among others. Produced by Sun Pictures, it also has cameos by Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Jackie Shroff and Hrithik Roshan.

Jailer 2 has collected Rs 1.23 crore net at the Indian box office by 2 pm on Day 16. The Rajinikanth-starrer is currently running across 3,713 shows nationwide. With this, the film’s total India gross collection has reached Rs 504.10 crore, while its India net collection stands at Rs 430.78 crore so far

Trade site Sacnilk noted that only a handful of Indian films have reportedly managed to record over 1 lakh BookMyShow ticket sales for at least 15 consecutive days. The list includes Jailer, Jawan, Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898 AD and the Kannada blockbuster Premada Oorali. While Jawan reportedly maintained the streak for 19 days, Premada Oorali achieved 17 consecutive days.

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has secured the fifth spot among Indian cinema’s biggest BookMyShow performers at the end of their second theatrical weeks, with approximately 10.42 million (1.04 crore) tickets sold. The list is topped by Pushpa 2 with 16.46 million tickets, followed by Dhurandhar 2 (14.95 million), Kantara Chapter 1 (11.15 million) and Kalki 2898 AD (11 million). Telugu cinema accounts for three entries in the top five, while Dhurandhar 2 represents Hindi cinema. Jailer 2 is the only Tamil film on the list, reflecting the scale of its ticket sales.

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has reportedly achieved another BookMyShow milestone by recording over 1 lakh ticket sales daily for 15 consecutive days. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed film registered approximately 1,00,770 bookings on its second Thursday, October 29, narrowly crossing the 1 lakh mark and keeping its streak intact.

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has collected Rs 53.60 crore net at the Hindi box office, securing the second position among the highest-grossing Tamil-dubbed films in the market. The achievement is notable as the film had a limited Hindi release, with major multiplex chains such as PVR INOX and Cinepolis opting out over a disagreement regarding the four-week OTT window. As a result, the Hindi version played mainly in single-screen theatres and select multiplexes. 2.0 leads the list with Rs 186 crore, followed by Jailer 2 (Rs 53.60 crore), Coolie: The Powerhouse (Rs 33 crore), Leo (Rs 28.50 crore), Kabali (Rs 23.75 crore), Robot (Rs 21.75 crore), Ponniyin Selvan: I (Rs 21 crore), The GOAT (Rs 19.50 crore), Ponniyin Selvan: II (Rs 16.25 crore) and Jana Nayagan (Rs 16 crore).

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has collected Rs 176.25 crore gross in Tamil Nadu, placing it sixth among the highest-grossing Tamil films in the state, according to the ranking shared. Vijay’s Leo leads the list with Rs 231 crore, followed by Ponniyin Selvan: I at Rs 222 crore and The Greatest of All Time at Rs 220 crore. Rajinikanth’s 2023 film Jailer occupies the fourth spot with Rs 189 crore, while Vikram is fifth with Rs 181 crore.

“Thalaivar is smashing the box office!” wrote Parallax Cinemas in a post on X. The post stated that Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has achieved a massive milestone by grossing Rs 765 crore worldwide in just 15 days. It also claimed that the superstar is the only Indian hero to have delivered seven industry hits since 1999, adding that the film continues to draw audiences to theatres.

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has emerged as the highest-grossing Kollywood film in Andhra Pradesh and Nizam. The film has collected Rs 95.10 crore gross in the two regions in just 15 days, surpassing the lifetime gross of Rs 94 crore, including 3D collections, earned by Rajinikanth’s 2.0. Rajinikanth holds all four spots among the highest-grossing Tamil films in these markets.

According to trade website Sacnilk, Tamil Nadu remains Jailer 2’s biggest individual market, contributing Rs 195.60 crore, or 38.91% of its total India gross, in 15 days. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana follow with Rs 92.20 crore (18.34%), while Karnataka has contributed Rs 86.85 crore (17.28%) and Kerala Rs 74.40 crore (14.80%). The remaining Indian markets account for Rs 53.60 crore, taking the film’s total domestic gross to Rs 502.65 crore.

Jailer 2 has already surpassed Rajinikanth’s 2.0 (Rs 691 crore gross) to become the highest-grossing Tamil film worldwide, with a worldwide gross collection of Rs 765.15 crore so far. However, crossing the Rs 500 crore gross mark in India carries a different significance. Despite the remarkable growth of Tamil cinema over the past eight years, no other Tamil film had managed to achieve this domestic milestone. Rajinikanth now holds both records, having crossed the Rs 500 crore mark in India with two films that followed very different theatrical distribution strategies.

Rajinikanth has added another remarkable achievement to his box-office legacy as Jailer 2 crosses the Rs 500 crore gross mark at the Indian box office. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial achieved the milestone on Thursday, October 29, its 15th day in theatres, becoming only the second Tamil film in history to enter the exclusive club. Interestingly, the first film to achieve this feat was also a Rajinikanth starrer, 2.0, which earned around Rs 520 crore gross in India during its lifetime in 2018.

Trade observer SP&E believes Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 could continue its theatrical run into Diwali and face competition from upcoming releases for screens. However, he feels the film has a good chance of crossing the Rs 1,000 crore mark worldwide. Taking to X, he also highlighted Rajinikanth’s box-office achievements and made several predictions about the superstar’s upcoming records. The post read, “Jailer 2 is expected to run into Diwali and will give tough competition to new releases to retain screens and good chance of cross WW 1000+ crores. Superstar Rajinikanth is going to be the first actor in India to give:

-First movie expected to cross 80 crore+ in each of the southern states.

All of this done without a major Hindi release. Emperor-king among kings of box office.”

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has crossed the Rs 50 crore gross mark with its Hindi version in India, adding another major milestone to its box-office run. According to Bollywood Box Office, the film has become the first Tamil film to cross the Rs 50 crore gross mark in all five major territories — Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh-Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and the Hindi belt. With this achievement, Jailer 2 has also become the fourth Indian film to accomplish the feat, after Baahubali 2, KGF 2 and Kantara Chapter 1.

Trade analyst Nishit Shaw expressed happiness over Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 emerging as the highest worldwide grosser in the history of Tamil cinema. However, he also expressed disappointment that the film might miss the Rs 1,000 crore milestone because of distribution decisions.

Taking to X, he wrote, “Really happy to see Jailer 2 emerge as the highest worldwide grosser ever in the history of Tamil Cinema but equally sad because it will most likely miss the 1000 crore mark due to these distribution decisions. The opportunity was clearly there but alas. Don’t think any film from Kollywood in the near future will be as close as this one.”

Trade analyst Karthik has predicted a massive third weekend for Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 across the world before the Diwali releases take over the box office. Taking to X, he said the film is expected to emerge as the all-time No. 1 movie in terms of footfalls across all popular, major and iconic theatre centres in Tamil Nadu by a huge margin. He also expressed surprise at the film’s extraordinary footfall numbers.

Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 recorded 479,990 footfalls on Day 15, taking its total footfalls across India to 28,862,750 so far.

Overseas, Jailer 2 collected Rs 2 crore on Day 15, taking its total overseas gross collection to Rs 262.50 crore. With this, the Rajinikanth-starrer has pushed its worldwide gross collection to Rs 765.15 crore in 15 days.

On Day 15, Rajinikanth’s film Jailer 2 collected Rs 3.20 crore from 4,462 shows in Tamil, followed by Rs 1.40 crore from 1,665 shows in Telugu. The Hindi version earned Rs 1.10 crore from 3,972 shows, while the Kannada version contributed Rs 0.20 crore from 214 shows. This takes the film’s total India net collection to Rs 429.55 crore.

On Day 15, Jailer 2 collected Rs 5.90 crore net across 10,313 shows in India. With this, its total India gross collection has reached Rs 502.65 crore, while the India net collection stands at Rs 429.55 crore.
