Jana Nayagan Box Office Collection Day 6 Updates: After opening strongly and posting weekend gains, the Vijay starrer Jana Nayagan has experienced the expected weekday slowdown, with collections dipping sharply on Tuesday.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the political thriller earned Rs 8 crore net in India on Day 6, marking a 24.9% drop from Monday’s collection of Rs 10.65 crore. With this, its total India net collection has reached Rs 143.40 crore, while the India gross collection stands at Rs 167.57 crore. Worldwide, the film has grossed Rs 246.07 crore.
On Tuesday, Jana Nayagan saw an overall 25.73% occupancy, with morning shows at 19.08%, afternoon shows at 22.69%, evening shows at 31.15%, and night shows at 30.00%.
Amid Jana Nayagan’s theatrical run, director H Vinoth has addressed the mixed critical response to the film. In an interview with NDTV, Vinoth said, “I haven’t read most of the reviews. Moreover, we need to look at which is a paid review and which is a genuine one – in today’s age of PR culture, where there is organised influencer marketing that extends to reviews, we need to assess what is real.”
He added, “If there is genuine feedback, I’ll definitely accept it. From day one, I knew Jana Nayagan was a complete commercial entertainer, and we have a reference movie (Bhagavanth Kesari) too. Any review should see how we have made Jana Nayagan in relation to that instead of judging it as a new film. In today’s world, it’s become difficult to find out which journalist is being honest, and I don’t want to mentally stress myself over that.”
Besides Vijay, Jana Nayagan also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan has collected Rs 1.28 crore net by 2 pm on Day 7 while running across 5,020 shows nationwide.
Film exhibitor Tiruppur Subramaniam has praised Thalapathy Vijay’s star power, saying Jana Nayagan opened bigger than his previous film because of his elevation as Chief Minister Vijay. Speaking about the film’s performance, as per a post shared by @MoviesSingapore, he shared, “#jananayagan had a greater opening than his previous film, and the reason is that he’s now #cmvijay. If the movie had released during Pongal, it would’ve been even different. Theatre owners were scared because the movie had leaked, but even then, it opened huge. It’s a very happy moment for us. #thalapathyvijay’s mass appeal is on another level. Every audience member is saddened that he’s leaving cinema with this movie, and many don’t even realise that he’s now The Honourable Chief Minister. From 40-50-year-old ladies to 25-year-old youngsters, everyone is enjoying the film. Only the #vijay brand could make this happen. This has happened only for #mgr and #rajinikanth, and now it’s happening for him. There’s a 20-year generational gap between the biggest stars. The movie will cross the ₹100Cr mark very easily. According to BookMyShow data, Jana Nayagan continues to witness strong audience interest despite its weekday slowdown. From the advance booking phase through its first Tuesday, the film has sold a total of 34,17,830 tickets, with around 1.17 lakh tickets sold on Tuesday alone. The feat places Vijay’s farewell film at No. 8 on the all-time list for first Tuesday ticket sales in Kollywood.
With an impressive Rs 123.15 crore India net collection in its first six days, Jana Nayagan has emerged as the sixth-highest first six-day grosser in Kollywood history. Vijay’s farewell film has surpassed major blockbusters like Vikram (Rs 118.40 crore) and Bigil (Rs 110.10 crore), underlining its strong theatrical performance. Jana Nayagan is continuing its steady run in the North American market. According to Venky Box Office, the film earned $43,000 (approximately Rs 36 lakh) on Monday, taking its total North America gross to $1.35 million (around Rs 11.27 crore).
Veteran actor Nizhalgal Ravi has heaped praise on Thalapathy Vijay, calling the actor’s latest achievement a historic moment for the film industry. Reacting to the response to Jana Nayagan, he said in an interview with TOI, “What Vijay has achieved is a HISTORIC MILESTONE in the History of Film Industry. ‘CM VIJAY TITLE CARD’ in Jana Nayagan is gonna speak for years, years, and years to come.”

The Tamil version remained the biggest contributor to Jana Nayagan on Day 6, collecting Rs 6.15 crore net with 25% occupancy across 4,873 shows. The Hindi-dubbed version added Rs 1.25 crore from 4,420 shows, while the Telugu version earned Rs 0.60 crore across 1,120 shows.
As Jana Nayagan continues its successful theatrical run, an emotional post by a Vijay fan has gone viral on social media, perfectly capturing the bittersweet mood surrounding the actor’s farewell film. In the Day 6 state-wise gross collection report, Tamil Nadu continued to dominate the box office, contributing Rs 5.50 crore gross. Karnataka followed with Rs 1 crore, while the rest of India added Rs 1.50 crore. Kerala contributed Rs 0.70 crore, and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana brought in Rs 0.55 crore, taking the film’s Day 6 India gross collection to Rs 9.25 crore.
On Day 6, the Tamil version of Jana Nayagan registered an overall occupancy of 25.73%. The film opened with 19.08% occupancy in the morning shows, rose to 22.69% in the afternoon, peaked at 31.15% during the evening shows, and maintained a strong 30.00% occupancy at night.
Overseas, Jana Nayagan earned an estimated Rs 3.00 crore gross on Day 6, taking its total overseas collection to Rs 78.50 crore. With India gross collections at Rs 167.57 crore, the film’s worldwide gross has now climbed to Rs 246.07 crore, keeping Vijay’s farewell film on track to cross the Rs 250 crore milestone soon.
